NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. ? Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney says that a National Labor Relations Board complaint against Boeing over building a plant in South Carolina is the Obama administration's political payback to labor unions.
Romney spoke with reporters after touring the $750 million plant that brought an NLRB complaint earlier this year. The agency alleges the plant was built in South Carolina to avoid unionized labor in Washington state.
Romney said the complaint has caused a climate of uncertainty that has made Boeing suppliers rethink decisions to locate in the state.
Romney appeared with former GOP hopeful Tim Pawlenty, who on Monday threw his support to Romney. He called Romney the candidate best qualified to be president.
