Three men were arrested for selling hundreds of bootlegged DVDs and CDs over the weekend in Dallas.
Police arrested two men ? 34-year-olds Keithum Smith and Dwayne Greene ? Saturday at a barber shop on the 2900 block of West Camp Wisdom Road in the Red Bird area. Motion Picture Association of America agents contacted police after they bought two bootlegged DVDs during a sting. Investigators recovered a total of 908 DVDs and 267 CDs, police said.
Another man, Jose Alfredo Jimenez, 28, was arrested on an aggravated assault warrant?Sunday at a gas station parking lot on the 9500 block of C.F. Hawn Freeway in Southeast Dallas, police said. While searching Jimenez?s car, police said they discovered thousands of bootlegged DVDs. Police said MPAA regional investigators looked at the DVDs and said they were counterfeit.
Authorities have placed an immigration hold on Jimenez, whose total bond is set at $387,000 mostly because of an affidavit to go off bond in an indecency with a child case. Greene?s bond is set at $50,000. Smith was released after posting a $1,500 bond.
